Class of '87 Mini-Reunion

Our fearless committee has planned several days of fun in the sun, with activities appealing to a wide range of interests and budgets. Closer to the mini-Reunion date, classmates will receive an invitation to a GroupMe so we can connect with each other.

 

  

The Lodge at Torrey Pines offers a beautiful setting in which to relax and catch up with friends.

La Jolla Kayak

Kayak through the La Jolla Ecological Reserve, home of leopard sharks, Garibaldi (California’s state marine fish!), lush kelp beds, sea lions, and even the occasional pod of dolphins! Experienced tour guides will share fun facts and history about La Jolla, safely guide you along the sea caves and lead you through one (ocean conditions permitting), and most importantly they will make sure you are having fun!

Leave hotels around 9:45 for 2199 Avenida de la Playa, La Jolla.

Brewery Tour

A fun afternoon of beer, food and friends in Old Town San Diego.  We'll visit three breweries, eat a BBQ lunch (vegetarian options available), and even get to drink beer as we travel between breweries.  Price includes all beers, food, transportation, souvenir glass and gratuities. Min 6 people; max 13 due to vehicle capacity

Meet in hotel lobby at 9:30 to Uber to the bus.  All transportation costs included.

Guided Tour of Timken Museum of Art at Balboa Park

Go on a tour of the art museum.  After the tour, people can wander through Balboa Park on their own and enjoy lunch at one of the many cafes or restaurants.  There are lovely gardens to enjoy, and they are free.  There are also 15 other museums in the park that offer exhibitions on a wide variety of subjects:  science, natural history, art, photography, gems, model railroads, etc.  There is a museum for everyone!  Admission to the other museums ranges in price from $8 to $25. FYI: The San Diego Museum of Art will be hosting its annual fundraising event, Art Alive, that weekend. The museum will be filled with 100 floral interpretations of the works of art on view.  The San Diego zoo is also nearby.  Adult admission to the zoo begins at $58.
