Class of '87 Scholarship Fund

The Class of ’87 Scholarship Fund has been established to aid future generations of Princeton scholars. As part of this project, the Class of ’87 has commissioned a fine-art lithograph by Bill Schmidt P’87 that features a classic Princeton vista: the view of Blair Tower from Dodge Memorial Gate. As a thank-you gift for donations of $100 or more, the class will send you a lithograph, perfect for yourself or as a gift to alumni, students, parents, faculty, staff, and friends of the university as a remembrance of years well spent at our alma mater. 100% of donations will go to scholarships. Bill is the father of Karen Schmidt Crandall '87.

The Class of ’87 Scholarship Fund’s goal is to raise at least $100,000 to support Princeton’s need-blind admissions policy. Every student who is admitted to the University can become a Princetonian, regardless of economic circumstance. In recent years, the University has systematically upgraded its aid policies, removing the value of the family home from the formula for calculating need, reducing work requirements for students who win outside scholarships, extending need-blind admissions to international students, and replacing student loans with outright grants. Today, 52% of all undergraduates are receiving financial aid, with an average aid package of $30,750 (including about $2,000 in campus jobs).

The lithograph is on acid-free paper, suitable for matting and framing in a standard 20” x 24” frame. The image was created by the internationally-recognized artist and donated for this project.

Scholarship donations under $100 are fully tax deductible. Donations of $100 or more are tax deductible except for $25 allocated for the lithograph.
